Does going to a bigger city mean that your chances for success are going to increase? That depends on who you are. Whether you're going to the MLB, NFL, NHL or NBA you might want to look at these fine cities. Currently, there are 46 cities/metropolitan areas that have at least one of these big 4 professional franchises in existence. Think about it, these cities do have history that gives them their identity. You might be surprised about the number of championships one city has.
This list is comprised of almost every professional league (active or not) and how many championships have been brought to them. Again, these are cities that actively have a big 4 franchise (sorry MLS and WNBA). Over the next few days, I will have a new list of 9 cities/areas, until we get to the top 10. Who's in the top 10 you might ask? You'll just have to wait and see.
Former leagues that are included are ABA, PCHA, ECHA, NHA, WHA, AFL, etc. If the teams are amateur, well... they don't matter, but I'll give them a shout out. Again, if I missed something then I missed it. And if you don't like my list, make your own.
I'll have 38-46. Then I'll have 29-37, etc. The list of cities is organized by number of championships, the most recent champion and so on. Give it a look and maybe you'll learn something new.
